Advent 2018: “Arrival”

Advent logo 2018The season of Advent is a time of anticipation—something new and powerful is about to break forth in the world.

This year’s theme “Arrival” points to the birth of Jesus and all that came with it—God’s love embodied and cosmic light let loose. We imagine the arrival of Mary and Joseph at the inn, desperately seeking a place to stay in the crowded city.

Who else is knocking at the door asking for refuge, equity, a new chance, or exactly the same thing as that young family—a safe place to sleep for the night? What “arrivals” are you awaiting this season?

Come, let us gather in hope, watching for what is to come!
