As the congregation continues to discern whether to building affordable housing on the First Church campus, The Affordable Housing Subcommittee of the Blue Sky Team will host a series of a conversations on some of the individual issues that have been raised.
On Sunday, November 19, the conversation will be about parking. It is likely that a project would involve losing some parking spots on the Durant side of the property. The committee will be sharing some of what they are learning about area parking issues both in the short- and long-term and alternative parking strategies. Plenty of time will be provided for questions and discussion.
Come if parking is a concern of yours, come if you see parking in a larger context, come if you don't care about parking but want to be part of moving the conversation on affordable housing forward!
The meeting will take place at 11:45 am in the Sanctuary.
Although the plans presented on October 22 by Satellite Affordable Housing Associates are only a broad view of what might be possible, they provide a helpful frame for identifying important issues that the church will need to consider in its discernment.
Additional conversations have been scheduled on other aspects of the proposed plan.
