Once again, First Church Berkeley will be hosting an evening of comedy by lesbian performers Jennie McNulty and Vickie Shaw on Saturday, August 5 at 8 pm in the Sanctuary.
A great evening of laughs to benefit the Open and Affirming Coalition of the United Church of Christ!
Jennie McNulty had the crowd roaring with laughter when she was here two years ago. She was named by New England Blade as “One of the premiere comedians in the country.” Her playfully sarcastic style wins over every crowd the moment she takes the stage. With topics ranging from her love of sports (she plays women's pro tackle football) to current events to whatever the audience throws at her. She has some of the sharpest improv skills around.
Vickie Shaw has been on Comedy Central, Bravo, A&E and has had her own one-woman show on Logo. She was featured in the documentary “Laughing Matters.” She’s a recovering Southern Baptist and out lesbian mother of 3 grown children and 3 “perfect” granddaughters. Her comedy is endearing (she’s southern), sharp, and “don't- mess-with-her” (she’s southern).
Tickets are $20 in advance/$25 at the door. The show is intended for ages 17 and up.
