At an official congregational meeting on Sunday, June 3, 2018, the congregation voted unanimously to authorize the membershp and work of the Blue Fire Committee which will oversee the design and construction, through occupancy, of Pilgrim Hall.
Members are Scott Sporte, chair, Leonard Ash, Moe Wright, Roger Bash, Kara Korbel-Chinula, Lorenzo Llanillo, Molly Baskette, and Tanya Lawrence.
The Blue Fire Committee comes out of the evolving post-fire process and includes some members of the Blue Sky Team and the Fire Recovery Committee (hence the name). The group will focus specifically on the rebuilding of Pilgrim Hall, including the review and selection of architects, the development of design choices, and issues related to budgeting, the permitting process, construction, and occupancy. The committee expects to involve the congregation at key points in the decision-making process.
The Fire Recovery Comittee, which has been dealing with post-fire logistics, will continue to deal with the insurance settlement and other post-fire details. The Blue Sky Team, which helped the church imagine what might come out of the kairos moment of the fire, has completed its work.
