Marvin K. White
Sunday Dec 10, 2017 10:00am
Sermon

In response to the call in the scripture to be watching for the signs of the
coming of the day of God,” First Church’s Public Theologian in Residence Marvin. K. White reminds us that hyper vigilance isn’t necessarily the intent. He reminds us of the basic need for rest and of those who have little opportunity to do so, in particular black women. He reminds us of the power and threat of white supremacy, in which all of us live and the ways that we are breaking free of it. He also calls us to the vulnerable time just before birth. What is growing inside us, just waiting to be brought into the world?
