Sermon

On Annual Meeting Sunday, Senior Minister Molly Baskette begins with a parable about the tenderness and tentativeness of feelings and how we share them. She weaves in Paul’s approach to connecting with a wide variety of people as a way of understanding them and then sharing his message in ways that they can hear them (1 Corinthians 9:16-23). When he could see them, he could speak to them. Paul wasn’t “all things to all people” he was one thing to all people—love. She also introduced the Zulu greeting “sawubono” which means “I see you” and led the congregation in a series of interactions where they shared that greeting and their feelings about a number of subjects.
