We are reaching out to build support for SB 899, a bill that will make it easier and faster for faith communities to build affordable housing on land that they own. The Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California (NPH) and the Southern California Association of Nonprofit Housing (SCANPH) are co-sponsoring Senate Bill 899 by Scott Weiner which would allow places of worship and non-profit colleges to build affordable housing on their land regardless of local zoning restrictions. This legislation would significantly streamline the process for faith-based organizations to provide more affordable housing options for their communities.”
