Sanctuary
We’ll be joined in worship by the salty, brilliant, darkly hilarious Kaya Oakes who will be bringing us themes from her new book, Not So Sorry: Abusers, False Apologies and the Limits of Forgiveness, about the role Christian forgiveness has in a culture of rampant, unrepentant abuse.
Kaya is a Catholic laywoman, journalist and author of six books, including The Nones Are Alright and Radical Reinvention. She teaches writing at UC Berkeley. Her writing has appeared in many places including The Guardian, Slate, Foreign Policy, The Washington Post, and On Being. She was born and raised in Oakland, California, where she still lives. You can buy copies of her latest book after worship!
