Neighbors in Need (NIN) is a special mission offering of the United Church of Christ that supports ministries of justice and compassion in the United States. This year’s focus is on Mental Health Justice, which aligns with the General Synod resolution passed in 2015 to make our denomination WISE (Welcoming, Inclusive, Supportive, and Engaged) for mental health.
“A just world for all is a world where the human rights and well-being of people with mental health challenges are respected, no matter who you are or where you are in life’s mental health journey.”
Please join others across the denomination in providing donations to this year’s NIN “Mental Health Is a Universal Human Right” campaign. One-third of our special offering supports Council for American Indian Ministry (CAIM) and two-thirds goes to Justice and Witness Ministries to provide grants to UCC churches and organizations supporting a variety of justice initiatives, advocacyefforts, and direct service projects.
Please give generously to this special UCC offering during worship on Sun., Sept. 29. Checks can be made out to “FCCB” with “Neighbors in Need” in the memo line or you may also donate through Realm or PayPal at www.firstchurchberkeley.org/give/.
