The Blue Fire Team, architects, and contractor have been working toward demolishing the burned out Pilgrim Hall in early April. They expect the permits and contracts to come together soon. In preparation, the south end (Channing entrance) to the parking lot will be closed to allow for construction access. The Durant entrance will be open and the lot will be re-striped to allow for parking and a turnaround. The Channing entrance closure will begin Sat., April 2 and, if all goes well, it will continue for about a year when the Community Building will be finished.
Plans for the construction of the Community Building have been submitted to the City of Berkeley for plan check. The architects are also finishing details so that final pricing with subcontractors can take place while the building demolition occurs. Stay tuned for news of the start of construction!
