This summer join fellow First Churchers, their family, and friends in DIY training for a low-key, informal triathlon in Alameda on Sat., Sept. 2 at 9 am. It will approximate a sprint distance triathlon (with flexibility for those who want to do just a part of it.) It will entail a 1/4 mile swim off of the Encinal Boat Ramp in Alameda, a 12-15 mile bike ride, and a 5K run along the Bay. Anyone is welcome, but minors must be accompanied during the swim by an adult, or be wearing a swim buoy with an adult agreeing to act as their lifeguard. This will have a do-it-yourself spirit: there are no official sponsors, chip timing, professional lifeguards, etc.
Find a friend or family member to join you in training and let FCCB member Ann Naffziger ([email protected]) know if you are planning to join us on Sept. 2.
