2023 CROP Hunger Walk – Ending Hunger One Step at a Time

Sun., April 30, 1 pm
St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2005 Berryman St., Berkeley

Church, it is time to take out our walking shoes and make our steps count by participating in the 2023 Berkeley CROP Hunger Walk on Sun., April 30. CROP Hunger Walk, a brainchild of Church World Service, an ecumenical global relief agency, is one of the oldest walks to raise awareness and support for our most vulnerable neighbors. While the walk raises funds for Church World Service, generally a portion of the proceeds will remain local in support of the work of Dorothy Day House, the Berkeley Food Pantry and Youth Spirit Artworks.

To join or support the walk, you can join walkers in Berkeley on April 30; create your own team; join members of Justice & Service Ministry in handing out water and snacks to walkers (email [email protected]), or become a sponsor of a team or walker, by going to: https://events.crophungerwalk.org/2023/team/first-church-berkeley.

Checks should be payable to CWS/CROP and dropped off or mailed to First Congregational Church, 2330 Durant Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94704, attention Tom Yamaguchi, CROP Walk Treasurer.

And did you know that our former senior minister, Pat de Jong, has been the chair of Church World Service’s board for several years now? Bravo Pat!
