Election Night Watch Party

Tues., Nov. 5, 2024, 6 – 10 pm
Loper Chapel, Pillar Room, Hall of Entrance

Remember the wonderful, terrible Election Night Watch Party we held at church in 2016? If you were there, well: we ended dancing to Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive.” And we have.

We’re approaching another monumental presidential election, and this time Covid won’t stop us from gathering to support and cheer and huddle together for warmth and hope.

On Tues., Nov. 5 from 6-10 pm, we’ll gather for a Watch (and Pray!) Party. In the Pillar Room: pizza and popcorn and sweets; mocktails/lemonade/beer/wine, and noisy conversation. Also: art supplies and possibly a movie corner for the kids.

In Loper Chapel: streaming MSNBC and quiet conversation.

In the Hall of Entrance: self-guided labyrinth, yoga mats, and peaceful music along with aromatherapy. Ministers and others will be available throughout the evening to talk 1:1 and pray in the back of the sanctuary for those who are feeling especially shaky.

Toward the end of the evening, we’ll clear the chairs, turn off the election returns, and dance to one of 3 playlists: Celebration, Grief & Determination, or ???? It’s Still a Mystery???!

What you can bring: yourself, your family, neighbors, and friends. This is a great quiet evangelism event! Also bring: something sweet for the dessert table, and a bottle of wine or some beers to share if you imbibe (Rev. Hannah will bartend with a 2-drink maximum).
