Sat., Sept. 3, 9 am
Encinal Boat Ramp, 190 Central Ave., Alameda
Come cheer on our FCCB athletes this Sat., Sept 3 as they race (well, some of them may try to go fast, while others will be just trying to finish) in the first DIY Triathlon, starting at 9 am. All are welcome to hang out near the starting, ending, and transition area at the Encinal Boat Ramp, 190 Central Ave., Alameda immediately behind Encinal High School. There are picnic tables, a beach, and a walking path to the Hornet aircraft carrier there. Racers may start crossing the finish line around 10:30 or 11:00 am and Motley Pew folks will be there until at least noon. Feel free to come and go at your leisure and bring lawn chairs, noise makers, games, or playing cards to pass the time as the athletes come in and head out again on the different legs of the race. Your pastors (Molly and Kelly,) several of FCCB youth and other members will be racing and would love your support and camaraderie.
Everyone is welcome to bring a snack/potluck-y item to share afterwards, but please come even if you don’t bring food. Rumor has it there may be mimosas at the finish line.
