January 8, 2020, 6pm, Loper Chapel
What is the relationship between magic and faith? Belief and reality? Whether you are a hardcore Harry Potter fan or not, join us for an exploration of themes like adventure, magic, and love. Consider the Harry Potter universe as a window into what it means to be human – and also the impact of fantasy and imagination on the “real” world.
We stand in solidarity with all queer, trans, non-binary, and genderqueer persons and communities and deeply mourn JK Rowling’s transphobic statements. We strive to amplify the voices of the fan community who build upon the Harry Potter characters and universe to imagine a more diverse and inclusive world.
Please join us for an evening of singing, prayers, conversation, dinner, and more! Please feel free to bring any Harry Potter/magic-related paraphernalia you may own – wands, robes, etc are especially encouraged!
Dinner at 6, worship around 6:45pm and we’ll wrap up around 8. Come for as much of the time as you can!
