We are overjoyed to be moving into the new South Wing of our church property next month! The new wing will provide new spaces for our community to gather after service, to host events, and to meet in the smaller spaces like the library.
But we have one final hurdle before we can officially celebrate the end of construction.
Despite many cost-saving choices during both design and construction, inflation, rising labor costs, and permitting delays, we’ve incurred $425,000 in costs over our budget. While this is a big number, this is actually only 4% of the total building cost, which is a pretty normal overage in the world of construction projects!
Back in 2023, our community stepped up and raised $1.7 million through a three-year capital campaign to augment our insurance payout. Last month, letters went out asking the church community to consider extending their three-year gift for a fourth year to cover the final costs of the new building.
Thanks so much to those of you who have already stepped up and given! If you have any questions about how to make a pledge or a gift, or if you didn’t receive a letter, reach out to August Laperche in the church office. If you have questions about the campaign as a whole, reach out to Nick Kukulan.
We are so excited to move into this space and live into the new opportunities for ministry and shared church life that it will afford us. Thank you for pitching in to meet the needs of this final stretch!
