Second Sunday Sandwiches has been preparing bag lunches for our hungry neighbors since Oct. 9, 2016! Everyone’s help over the years has been much appreciated.
Much has changed during that time. I used to be able to pick up any items not donated easily, but with my declining mobility, that is not the case. Generous donors have given cash when they couldn’t provide the components. If you would like to be my legs, please sign up here to donate supplies or funds. This link is also available in The Carillon and on the church website.
Prices for food have gone up a lot, but don’t let that keep you from helping. Just submit the receipts to the church office and you will be reimbursed from the Second Sunday Sandwiches fund. You can donate cash through Realm or in the collection plate. Please mark the envelope with Second Sunday Sandwiches!
This is a totally volunteer effort, and without help getting the supplies, making the lunches, AND taking some as you leave church, it will have to be discontinued. As the old saying goes, paraphrased a bit: “Many hands make many lunches.”
