Liturgy of Blessing for Pilgrim Hall, March 20, 2022

Beloved, things are really finally happening with our rebuild! Our permit for demolition is about to be issued by the City of Berkeley, and later this spring the ruin will come down to make way for new growth.

Pilgrim Hall, which stood for nearly 100 years, holds countless memories for many folks in our church: wedding receptions and anniversary shindigs, youth group sleepovers, the nursery where many of you first left your precious bundle in the care of another human while you attended church, and countless other banner moments in your lives. Others among us have few to no memories but might want to mark this significant moment of transition in any case.

We invite all of you to gather after worship on Sun., March 20 for a prayerful walk-through of the Pilgrim Hall site: to pray, to remember, to tell stories, and to participate in a meaningful physical way in this letting go of what was and welcoming what will be. If you have ideas for how to mark this occasion, let Molly or Kelly know!
