– Richard Brabham, First Church Member & NCNC UCC Delegate
Our recent Northern California Nevada Conference, United Church of Christ (NCNC UCC) Annual Gathering (June 6 – 8) in Fresno was blessed beyond words by the inspiring, spirit-filled, and moving worship by 70 youth from the Sacramento Marshallese Church (see video & photos here). After the banquet, the youth were in the courtyard dancing to Hope Hilton and Kim Williams playing Taylor Swift songs!
On Sun., July 7 the NCNC UCC conference has the honor of installing the Marshallese Church into full standing as well as installing their pastor, Rev. Jello. This is a culmination of 13 years in care with the conference! It would be wonderful to have a group from FCCB there to show support for our expanding diversity. Richard Brabham is driving and can take four people with him. We can also create a caravan to Sacramento. The festivities begin at 3 pm. Contact Richard for more information ([email protected]).
As part of their sharing and worshipping with us in Fresno, and their installation, the Marshallese Church is raising funds to send their youth to the 2025 Marshallese Youth event in the Marshall Islands. It will be a great opportunity for the youth to visit their motherland. Donations can be made through Realm by selecting Marshallese Church from the drop-down menu, or by dropping checks, with Marshallese Church added to the memo line, into the offering plate the next few Sundays.
Let’s honor, celebrate, and support our cultural diversity.
