Spring Silent Retreat

Fri., March 15 to Sun., March 17
San Damiano Retreat House, Danville, CA

If you missed the fall FCCB silent retreat (or you participated and left wanting more!), Ann Naffziger will be leading another one this spring. Although not an FCCB event, it will follow almost exactly the routine from the fall silent retreat, this time at San Damiano Retreat House in Danville from March 15-17.

Come spend the weekend in silence or near silence as you set aside work, other commitments, and outside stimulation to listen for how God is speaking to you beneath all the noise of your everyday life. Give yourself the gift of time to re-connect with God and receive the graces God wants to give.

Beginning on Friday evening and continuing until Sunday afternoon, we’ll be in silence “together,” not speaking, but being in the company of others as much or as little as you’d like on the retreat grounds. There will be an opening session giving tips, suggestions, and resources for how to structure your time and describing some typical patterns that happen on silent retreats. Each evening and morning there will be short, optional, contemplative prayer services. On Saturday there will be optional individual spiritual direction sessions. Prayer prompts and suggestions for scripture reading will be available, as well as a lending library of spiritual books and art supplies.

You’ll have long periods of time to spend as you wish, praying, journaling, reading, knitting, making art, reflecting on scripture, napping, hiking, walking the labyrinth, or anything else that helps you to settle into yourself to listen to your heart. We’ll break the silence Sunday to share the surprises and graces of the retreat.
