This is an exciting time to be a part of First Church Berkeley UCC (FCCB)! We’re planning to do something we haven’t done as a church for many years: a capital fund campaign to help us get over the finish line for our new community building, which will house the church offices; program space for children, youth and adults; a brand new kitchen; large assembly, and an outdoor gathering & worship space with a labyrinth!
Church Council is recommending a Capital Campaign for next spring 2023 to secure financial commitments for this once-in-a-lifetime build. To help us prepare for a capital campaign the Council has authorized a Feasibility Study this fall.
We have been reaching out in a variety of ways to hear from various households in our congregation. And we want to extend an invitation to hear from everyone in our congregation who feels moved to share their thoughts, ideas, and opinions. You can find paper questionnaires in the Hall of Entrance for you to complete starting Sun., Oct. 16 through the end of the month or you can complete the same questionnaire online here.
The collective feedback and opinions of our membership are important to this process. Along with the questionnaire is a document that includes a description of the proposed building plans. Please review this document here prior to completing the questionnaire.
If you complete a paper questionnaire, please return it in a self-addressed, stamped envelope, which is located with the other materials. Please note that, for reasons of confidentiality, your completed questionnaire should be returned directly to the offices of The Enrichment Group (the consulting group that the Council has engaged to serve us in this process). Please return your questionnaire no later than Oct. 31, 2022.
