Guest preacher Kaji Douša, Pastor of Park Avenue Christian Church and reproductive justice advocate for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, will lead a conversation about the stigmas around abortion. This learning opportunity seeks to create safe space for anyone who supports abortion but wonders how to talk about it from the perspective of their Christian faith. (As the objective is for safe space, this will not be a conversation debating abortion’s merits.) After grounding the time theologically and biblically, participants will be invited to explore the narratives around abortion in their lives, learn about abortion stigmas, how to shift the narrative, how to talk to others about their beliefs about abortion, and have an opportunity to practice conversations with prompts. We hope that this will be a time of healing, hope and inspiration on this very sensitive, important topic.
