Film Screening – The Hong Konger

Join First Church member Rev. Dr. Cindy Au and others for the screening of The Hong Konger, which features the remarkable story of Jimmy Lai, a penniless immigrant who became Hong Kong’s most prominent freedom fighter. Following the movie, Jimmy’s colleagues and Hong Kong activists will take part in a discussion of what the crackdown in Hong Kong means for the city and for freedom everywhere.

On Sat., April 6, beginning at 2:30 pm in Loper Chapel, you’re also invited to attend the Bay Area screening debut of Hong Kong: Final Days of Freedom, a film that explores Hong Kong’s battle for democracy. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A session with the movie’s Director Sean Fleck.

In addition, following the Q&A session, author Edward Chin will speak about his book “The Path to True Freedom” with prayers for Hong Kong to follow.
