Mental Health Spiritual Support Group Returns

After a three-year hiatus, Sunday, May 21, 2023 will be the first meeting of the Mental Health Spiritual Support Group, 11:30-12:30 in Durant House. It will take place every month on the third Sunday, and the Mental Health Book Cart will come out on Third Sundays as well. This group is a safe and confidential space to give and receive support around mental health struggle, and all are welcome.

This is not a group offering therapy but a peer support group with skilled facilitation by Rev. Cindy Au. Cindy graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts before attending San Francisco Theological Seminary, where she received a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry focusing on Pastoral Care and Counseling. She is a Board-Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplain, worked in various hospital and retirement homes in Hawaii and is currently a Psychiatric Chaplain here in the Bay Area. Her passion and mission are reflected in her various ministries to the sick, cancer support groups, the unhoused, and socially isolated. Cindy’s wide range of expertise includes Spirituality and Art, Grief and Loss, Suffering and Healing, Death and Dying, Bereavement Counseling, trauma growth, cultural sensitivity and social justice.
