Just because we can’t take to the streets in the thousands doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate with full-throated joy the being and blessing of queerness!
We’ll celebrate Pride Sunday on June 28. Rev. Quinn Caldwell, a popular Daily Devotional author and preacher extraordinaire will be our guest preacher for the day, illuminating for us the Hebrew scriptures story of Esther and Vashti, an act of intersectional, feminist and (look for it…it’s there) queer resistance against the violence of patriarchy, genocide, anti-Semitism, xenophobia and empire.
For a more lighthearted side of Pride: come to church wearing allll your rainbows! Post pics in the chat section of whatever platform you are watching on! Set up a Pride altar in your home! Some of our youth spent last evening bedazzling the church sidewalk with Pride messages so that even our quiet campus is celebrating. We’ll have a couple surprises and a whole lot of joy as we honor the ongoing liberation of our LGBTQI siblings and God’s love for the wide variety of people God has made.
